Fever Alert™ products from Wahl Instruments (Asheville, NC) include handheld infrared thermometers, handheld thermal imaging cameras, and high-resolution thermal imaging systems. The products automatically detect the hottest temperature on a subject, detecting critical temperature differences in real time. They give both audible and visible alarms for increased body temperatures or fever above the normal 98.6°F. The instruments are designed for the rapid screening of individuals in public places for elevated body temperatures, and are used by government agencies, health departments, and public facilities. The instruments are non-contact and non-invasive. Also available is a blackbody temperature reference source that allows for calibration verification of the unit prior to and during use.
