Mobile Speakers

Raltron, Miami, FL, has released a line of mobile speakers use in IoT, wearable, headset/hearing, smart home, consumer, and medical devices. The RSP-900 speakers are IP68 rated and can withstand immersion in water up to 50+ meters. Available in solder pad or spring termination with sizes ranging from as small as 12 × 5.5 × 3 mm to 38 × 13 × 3.7 mm, the robust SMD speakers feature sound pressure levels (SPL) from 87.5 to 103 db. Most RSP speakers have an operating temperature range of –20 to +60 °C with some models featuring a range of –30 to +70 °C.

Miniature Motors

Miniature rotor motors from Portescap, Worcestershire, UK, are ideal for automated liquid handling workstations. The slotless 16ECP24 offers a small diameter but increased length, while slotted outer rotor motors, such as the 20ECF14, are flatter but at the cost of increased diameter. Combined with an encoder, both can provide high performance and accurate positioning. The inner rotor design of the 16ECP24 can achieve higher speeds of up to 30,000 rpm, which is an advantage on the Z-axis, but the lead screws and ball screws used in these machines usually set a maximum speed limit of below 10,000 rpm. By contrast, the greater moving mass of the 20ECF14 with the outer rotor generates higher inertia than the 16ECP24.

Laser Workstation

A Class 1 laser workstation optimized for working with a wide range of metals (e.g., CRS, copper, and aluminum) is available from Amada Weld Tech, Monrovia, CA. The WL-300A enclosure platform provides a basis for a range of different processes. Computer Vision System

A 3D laser-based, computer-vision system from Coherix, Ann Arbor, MI, can track the application of adhesive beads on extremely small, but critically important assemblies. The Coherix 3D Mini™ can check adhesive beads as small in width as two human hairs at speeds of 400–1,000 times per second, faster and more effectively than 2D systems currently in use. When teamed with a the company’s adaptive process-control software, the 360° laser technology monitors and adjusts the application of adhesives to ensure that every part meets specification.

Fluid Sensors

Sensors from EBE Sensors Motion, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, combine capacitive and conductive measurements for precise media detection and enable comprehensive monitoring of fluid properties. Applicable for gases, liquids, solids, and even highly viscous media, the corTEC® sensors can be housed in special hygienic, robust or miniature housings and excellently detect media properties even without direct contact to the medium. The G029 is based on the 13th generation Intel® Core™ Series processors U/P/H, known as Raptor Lake. Brushless Servo Motors

The Clear-Path-EC combines a conformance-tested EtherCAT vector servo drive, brushless servo motor, and high-resolution encoder into a waterproof and dustproof package, saving space and eliminating complex and failure-prone cabling. The motors offer read and update position, velocity, and torque every 0.25 milliseconds and synchronize hundreds of motors to within 1 microsecond.
