With a combined area of 262,000 square feet, its headquarters will accommodate an ongoing increase in engineering, research, and development.
Solvay Specialty Polymers, Brussels, Belgium, announced that its SolvivaÒ Biomaterials line of high-performance plastics for implantable applications is now commercially available in China from its Shanghai facility where it operates research and development, sales, and commercial activities.

BD (Becton, Dickinson & Company), Franklin Lakes, NJ, a leading global medical technology company, completed its acquisition of Safety Syringes, Inc., Carlsbad, CA, which specializes in the development of anti-needlestick devices for prefilled syringes.
Covidien, Dublin, Ireland, and Mansfield, MA, which manufactures medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and medical supplies, has reached an agreement to acquire CV Ingenuity, Fremont, CA, a developer of drug-coated balloons to treat blockages in peripheral arteries.
Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, Aurora, OH, has completed the acquisition of American Fluoroseal Corporation, Gaithersburg, MD, a manufacturer of fluoropolymer bags for medical use and sterile sampling systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Sarnova, Inc., Dublin, OH, a leading specialty distributor of health care products in the emergency medical services and acute care markets, has acquired DXE Medical, Inc., Brentwood, TN. The acquisition extends the company's portfolio of resuscitation equipment, and expands its services into maintaining, repairing, and recertifying EMS and acute care equipment.
Arcady Capital Company, a Wichita, KS, based private equity firm, has acquired Mountain Molding, Longmont, CO, a leader in custom plastic injection molding, tool making, and contract manufacturing serving the medical device, security, pet products, and other industries.
DJO Global, Inc., Vista, CA, a global provider of medical device solutions for musculoskeletal health, vascular health and pain management, announced that its subsidiary, DJO, LLC, agreed to acquire Exos Corporation, Arden Hills, MN, a medical device company focused on a thermoformable external musculoskeletal stabilization system.
Providien LLC, Scottsdale, AZ, has completed the acquisition of Dynaroll Corporation, Sylmar, CA, a contract manufacturer focused on precision manufacturing, assembly, and testing of advanced components for medical devices, medical robots, surgical equipment, and medical disposable products. In addition, Providien has combined its Plastics Engineering & Development division with its Integra Biotechnical division under the Integra banner.
Natus Medical Inc., San Carlos, CA, is acquiring the Grass Technologies Product Group from Astro-Med, Inc., Warwick, RI. Grass Technologies develops neurodiagnostic and monitoring products, including a portfolio of polysomnography and electroencephalography systems. Natus makes healthcare products used for the screening, detection, treatment, monitoring and tracking of common medical ailments.
EndoChoice, Inc., Alpharetta, GA, a gastrointestinal endoscopy technology developer, is merging with Israeli counterpart Peer Medical Ltd. Together, the developers will be known as EndoChoice, and will remain headquartered in Alpharetta. Peer’s Israeli offices will become the new firm’s research and development center.
