TALON uses custom fiber optic and liquid light guide assemblies, replacing mercury arc or metal-halide lamps in fluorescence microscopy to enable live cell imaging without the photobleaching or cell viability deterioration associated with traditional technologies. Flux densities exceed 250 mw/mm2. The mercury-free unit provides 100 kHz pulsing.

Piezo actuators use solid-state motion to deliver high speed, high force, and virtually unlimited resolution. Rated up to 125 °C, Type BLS capacitors undergo 2,000 hours of THB testing at 85 °C and 85 percent relative humidity while operating at rated voltage.
