Circular Connector
Binder, Camarillo, CA, has launched an M8 12-pin circular connector. The connector complements the existing M8 series and offers miniaturization, flexibility, and performance. The high contact density allows for versatile use in a wide range of applications. The support of C-coding and adaptability to future standards and requirements make it a future-proof solution. The development of the 12-pin connector was achieved through a symmetrical arrangement of the contacts and the introduction of five small coding steps.

Abrasive Belts
Saint-Gobain Abrasives, Worcester, MA, has introduced an abrasive belt designed to provide consistent, fine finishes across a range of industries including medical. The NORaX® N889 belts feature an engineered, high-performance micron-grade aluminum oxide grain structured in a fine 3D pyramid pattern, which is especially well suited for lower pressure (0-8 psi) applications where belt flexibility is needed. The engineered abrasive slowly erodes during grinding, exposing new, sharp abrasive grains resulting in two to five times longer belt life than conventional polishing belts. Multiple layers of abrasive grain, together with the evenly spaced pyramidal pattern, provide consistent finishes on all types of materials, preventing uncontrolled scratches and producing a more repeatable, uniform finish throughout the entire part run.

Camera Module
A camera module for three-dimensional (3D) intraoral dental scanners is available from Omnivision, Santa Clara, CA. The OCH2B30 features a compact CameraCubeChip® package in an ultra-small form factor (2.6 × 2.6 mm) with exceedingly high image quality and MIPI interface for cameras in benchtop, standalone, and portable intraoral scanners. The camera module has a 2-megapixel (MP) resolution square-format CMOS image sensor with a 1.12-μm pixel built on the company’s latest PureCel®Plus-S stacked-die technology. At 1500 × 1500 resolution, the module achieves 60 frames per second (fps), and at 720p resolution, 120 fps.

Heat Seal Controller
TOSS Machine Components, Inc., Nazareth, PA, has released a panel mount impulse heat seal controller, specifically built with the high response and precise control needed for sealing the wide variety of polymeric films used in packaging. The PIREG-545 offers precise temperature regulation up to 500 °C and features programmable control for heat and cool timing, as well as a preheat capability. The controller prevents temperature overshoot, can seal films requiring a cooling phase, and provides decreased time for heating to sealing temperature. The unit’s impulse heat sealing control accomplishes high-quality welds on traditional life science films such as Tyvek, multi-layered films, Nylon, and foil laminated films, as well as more difficult applications such as polyethylene, nonwovens, and high-temperature fluoropolymers.
