Panasonic Corporation, Rolling Meadows, IL, has developed a pin-shaped Lithiumion battery (CG-320, nominal capacity 13mAh) with a diameter of 3.5mm and a weight of 0.6g. This battery is suitable for powering wearable devices. In addition to being the industry’s smallest cylindrical shaped rechargeable Li-ion battery, it features high reliability and high output required for near-field communications.
