GE Healthcare, Wauwatosa, WI, has launched its Vscan with Dual Probe pocket-sized ultrasound tool with the first of its kind 2-in-1 probe. It houses two transducers in a single probe, allowing clinicians to see both shallow and deep views of the body without changing probes.

The Canadian government announced that it will invest $14.9 million in a new Medical Devices Commercialization Centre, stemming from the University of Ottawa Medical Devices Innovation Institute. The Centre will initially be housed at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
