Ltd.) and Queretaro, Mexico (Omni Manufacturing Services S.A. de C. V.). This will position Phillips-Medisize to begin servicing its global customer base from these locations immediately.
Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, IL, announced two acquisitions today, saying it would buy two medical device firms, one focused on cataract surgery and one aimed at making devices for interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, and cardiologists. The purchases of OptiMedica, Sunnyvale, CA, and privately held IDEV Technologies, Webster, TX, are expected to close by year end.
