Powering Medical Devices: How to Filter Noise Out While Keeping Safety In

Available on Demand Until May 25, 2024

Safety in medical electrical equipment starts with the supply of power input. Power connectors and power entry modules (PEMs) with filters must fulfill the requirements of the electromagnetic capability (EMC) standards for medical electrical equipment. The standards focus on the medical safety aspects for main connectors, fuse holders, switches, and filters in accordance with medical requirements. In this 60-minute Webinar, attendees will learn strategies for medical equipment noise filtering as well as techniques for meeting stringent protection class II requirements.

Topics include:
  • How to filter noise in medical equipment with the limits imposed for leakage currents
  • How to meet requirements for filter performance in protection class II equipment without ground contact
A Q&A session will follow the technical presentation.
