A series of 1.250-in. diameter tubular solenoids has been released by Magnetic Sensor Systems (MSS), Van Nuys, CA. Ideal for strokes of up to 1.00 in., the S-20-125 series of pull type tubular solenoids features 18 different solenoids with 23 to 40 AWG (American Wire Gauge) windings. The solenoids feature a 1.25 in. diameter × 2.00 in. long housing and a 3/4-18 mounting thread. The noncaptive plunger, made of low residual magnetic steel for quick release, has a diameter of 0.437 in. with a clevis end for load attachment. A low friction brass guide and PTFE coating on the plunger ensures long life.
PSG Biotech, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, has launched updated flow sensors and flow measurement technologies to ensure maximum media-integrity protection. The BioProTT™ FlowSU System is designed for single-use biopharma applications. It eliminates the need for calibration and can be easily integrated into most standard manifolds while performing flow-measurement and air-in-line detection tasks simultaneously. The sensor’s straight-line flow path also produces product transfer with less shear stress to better protect sensitive fluids from damage. The SumoFlo® CPFM-8103 Single-Use Coriolis Mass Flow Meter has been updated for upstream, laboratory, and cell and gene therapy applications. It is now available with both inlet and outlet ports. A new ¼ in. connection is available.
Pneumatic micropumps from The Lee Co., Westbrook, CT, generate pressure or vacuum in a small, silent, vibration-free form factor. Designed for highly accurate, ultra-smooth, gas and liquid flow control, the disc pumps are designed for precision control of small volumes. The company has added piezoelectric disc pumps to its portfolio. The pumps are available with or without integrated electronics. Available in five different product series, the pumps can achieve flow rates up to 2 LPM and pressures from –400 to +600 mbar(g).
Iwaki America, Holliston, MA, has released a stainless-steel magnetic drive centrifugal pump designed for critical OEM applications such as thermal management systems, medical lasers, and x-ray chillers. The compact Model MA/MB pumps are easily designed into tight equipment spaces. The pumps offer maximum flow rates to 6 GPM and maximum pressure to 26 ft of head. Temperature ranges from –20 to +130° C.
