Master Bond (Hackensack, NJ) offers the EP42HT-2ND2, a no-run, two-part medical adhesive that has a paste-like consistency to facilitate application when bonding vertical surfaces. It cures at ambient temperatures, complies with the testing requirements for USP Class VI biocompatibility, and exhibits thermal stability up to 450 °F. This cured biocompatible epoxy adhesive is an electrical insulator with a volume resistivity greater than 1014 ohm-cm, and is castable to thicknesses exceeding 2 to 3”. A post cure of 200 to 266 °F for two to three hours enhances physical properties such as heat resistance. This formulation provides a clean bonding solution for sterilization processes such as radiation, ethylene oxide, chemical sterilants, and steam. It also offers resistance to inorganic and organic acids, alkalis, and organic solvents.
