Dry Bath for Robotics

Torrey Pines Scientific, Carlsbad, CA, has launched a Peltier-driven, compact chilling/heating dry bath with temperatures settable from 0.0° to 100.0 °C. The EchoTherm™ RIC40 is designed for use with robotic systems. The bath is controlled via the RS232 I/O port on each unit. It measures 4.9 × 3.3 × 3.9 in. (125 × 82 × 99 mm) without a sample block. Optional accessories include mounting brackets for Tecan decks and a variety of precision-made aluminum sample blocks. The bath can be set to 0.1 °C and is stable to ±0.2 °C.

Alarm and Indicator Platform

The Freeze Alarm is designed for products that are sensitive to freezing and provides a visible alert if the ambient temperature drops below 0 °C for 30 minutes; it shows a further alert at 60 minutes. The Room Temp indicator monitors the range 15–25 °C and alerts at one hour. The electronic indicators have been specially developed to combine ease of use with a small and light form factor. Tubular Solenoids

Magnetic Sensor Systems (MSS), Van Nuys, CA, has released a new model of its pull type tubular solenoids. The S-20-100X series features 18 different solenoids to select from based on the voltage, duty cycle, force, and stroke requirement of the user. The coils typically utilize Class F 23 to 40 AWG windings with Class A insulation for better protection of the solenoid during longer duty cycles. The solenoids feature a 1 in. diameter × 2 in. long housing and a 3/4 -16 UNF-2A thread for mounting. The new SV-2000 provides full-color, high-resolution video or still image capture. Rugged and flexible, the CMOS video scope is offered in three configurations: 1.6 mm Ø × 1.9 m, 400 × 400 resolution; 1.05 mm Ø × 1.2 m, 200 × 200 resolution; and 0.89 mm Ø × 1.2 m, 400 × 400 resolution. Each video scope features 120° field of view and an integrated LED light for illumination within the flexible shaft.
