Media Isolation Valves

Media isolation valves from Clippard, Cincinnati, OH, are solenoid-operated devices that use a flexible diaphragm to isolate the actuation mechanism from the fluid path. All wetted areas of the valve are PTFE, making this series ideal for use with corrosive media. The valves feature a one-piece valve stem that functions as a sealing membrane while also supporting and centralizing the poppet in the seating area. This multi-functional poppet/diaphragm/stem results in a simplified design with fewer parts, longer life, and zero dead volume.

Silicone Rubber

Bellofram Silicones, Newell, WV, offers silicone rubber material that meets Commercial Item Description (CID) AA59588 CL3B GR30, a rigorous standard that covers six classes of silicone rubber, in various grades. Within the broader AA59588 standard, the specific 3B class issues criteria for silicone rubber's tear and flex resistance, setting performance metrics in various grades, including grades 30, 50, 60, 70, and 80. These grades measure performance over repeated use. Grade 30 is the rarest, ensuring performance at 500,000 cycles (for comparison, the next, Grade 50, indicates 140,000 cycles). The company has the only product that meets AA59588 CL3B GR30, the absolute peak of expected performance over prolonged use.
