ATI Industrial Automation (Apex, NC) offers the Nano17, the smallest commercially available six-axis force/torque sensor. It is made of hardened stainless steel, with integrated interface plates made from high-strength aircraft aluminum. For measurements in highly magnetic environments, the Nano17 is also available in non-ferrous grade 5 titanium. It features maximum allowable single-axis overload values that are 3.1 to 13.8 times rated capacities. Other features include: high speed output, span temperature compensation, and high signal-to-noise ratio. Typical applications include haptics, robotic hand research, robotic surgery, finger-force research, and product testing.
