Polyimide Dielectric Coatings

Jaro Corp., Ipswich, MA, offers polyimide dielectric coatings. The JARO 650 and JARO 650-T Polyimide are proprietary polyimide thermoset materials that are resistant to high temperatures and perform well at cryogenic levels. The coatings are also highly resistant to oxidative degradation, weathering, and radiation. They provide insulation against electricity (3100 V per mil for the 650 and a minimum of 1500 V per mil for the 650-T). Cable Extension Sensor

ASM Sensors, Elmhurst, IL, has released a cable extension sensor that provides combined displacement and inclination measurement. The posiwire® WST85 sensors are equipped with contact-less, magnetic multi-hall encoder technology, which is designed to make them significantly more robust than conventional cable sensors using optical encoders or potentiometer solutions. Inclination is measured by an integrated inclination sensor element based on MEMS technology. The sensor reaches a linearity of up to ±0.05 percent of the measurement range for linear position and of up to 0.05° for inclination position.
