Biomedical Adhesives

Machining Capacity

Single-Board Computer

Congatec, San Diego, CA, has released a new single board computer (SBC) with eighth generation Intel Core processors (code name Whiskey Lake). Featuring the Intel Core i5-8365UE, only 4 GB out of a possible 64 GB of RAM, and running Windows 10 Pro, the tested version of the conga-JC370 3.5-inch SBCs reached the 85th percentile in the overall UserBenchmark comparison. It was found to offer an extremely good power-per-watt ratio as well as excellent thermal behavior. When running a stress test on the SBC for almost an hour with an overall CPU utilization of 98.7 percent, no throttling was required for cooling down the CPU.

The PROGENY™ plasma treatment system has a chamber that is 2 m deep with overall dimensions of 660 × 2260 × 660 mm for plasma treatment of catheters at their full extended length.

Plasma cleans and activates the surface prior to applying a lubricious coating and provides adhesive bonding of the balloon to the catheter. It removes contamination, impurities, and organics at the nanometer level and improves surface wettability, hydrophilicity, and bonding capabilities.
