Composite Medical Tubing

Polygon, Walkerton, IN, has released a high-performance composite tubing for surgical applications. PolyMed® is ideal for use in placement on electrosurgical devices surgical ablation tools, suction irrigation or trocar cannula, endoscopic/laparoscopic instruments, and robotic surgery technologies. The lightweight tubing is invisible to x-ray, thermally insulating, and nonconductive. It can be rigid or flexible and can replace stainless steel tubing in a variety of endoscopic and laparoscopic instrumentation applications. The ISO 10993-compliant tubing can be sterilized. Architectures include braided, circumferentially wound, and unidirectional. The thin-walled material can be produced in multi-lumen shapes as one piece.
