Power Supply

A 400-W power supply is now available from Integrated Power Designs, Wilkes-Barre, PA. The power supply comes with two to four outputs in a compact 4 × 7 × 1.5 in. package. High power density is achieved through the use of an interleaved boundary conduction mode converter, giving the power supply a peak efficiency of 90 percent. All outputs are adjustable and fully regulated. Unique voltages are easily configured and are available as positive, negative, or isolated. Additional output features include overpower protection, overvoltage protection, power fail warning, remote sense on output #1, and independent voltage inhibit for each output. Standard specifications include universal 85-264 Vac input, power factor correction, and –20 to +70 °C operation.

Battery Holder with PCB Connector

Keystone, Astoria, NY, has added a new selection of plastic battery holders that include an option for a PCB connector plug. The plug is pre-installed to the end of 6 in. wires for simplified installations. The durable battery holders are molded from polypropylene or ABS with polarity tabs and markings to ensure proper polarity and connectivity. Spring contacts are made from steel with nickel plating. The connector plug is made from nylon 6/6 with a UL 94V-0, flammability rating. A mating PC mountable jack is also available. The holders accommodate a wide range of cylindrical batteries. The X4M300 Presence Sensor for occupancy sensing and the X4M200 Respiration Sensor integrate the company’s ultra-wideband impulse radar system-on-chip (SoC) design. The X4 SoC, which operates at unlicensed center frequencies of 7.29 GHz or 8.748 GHz, has a configurable frame size and can operate 10× faster than previously. This enables a greater range of up to 10 m for presence detection, for a target with a 0.1 m2 cross-section, while offering a respiration monitoring zone of 0.4–5.0 m for detecting breathing patterns or frequency when the target is otherwise still.

MEMS Pressure Sensor

ACEINNA Inc., Andover, MA, has launched a bidirectional differential pressure sensor designed for CPAP, breath detection, room pressure, damper control, flow hood, fume hood, filter monitoring, and other applications. Linear Robot Actuators

A multi-axis electric linear robot actuator for either x-z or x-y motion applications has been released by Bimba, University Park, IL. Employing a two-axis system, IntelliAxis™ features a single continuous belt that serpentines around the two axes, eliminating the need for a motor in the z- or y-axis while driving a pair of coordinated motors in the x-axis. 3D Printer

The W-Fi enabled printer includes a heated print bed and easy-to-use Web-based software as well as smart status notification with a multicolor LED. Features include filtered ventilation for safer use, a refillable premium filament cartridge, and the ability to print with advanced materials such as nylon and polycarbonate. It easily handles a variety of different materials, including ABS, PLA, specialty PLA such as wood and carbon fiber, nylon, and flexible material, which are installed into the printer via a refillable filament cartridge. Fast-Curing Epoxy

A high-strength, fast-curing epoxy from Master Bond, Hackensack, NJ, is designed for use in the assembly of medical devices. EP3HTND-2Med Black fully meets USP Class VI specifications. Solid-State SMD Fuse

The High Current Fuse (HCF) has a fast-reacting breaking capacity rated 1000 A at 125 VAC/125 VDC, over a current range of 5–15 A. Heat Sinks

The high aspect ratio design enables ATS Pin Fin heat sinks to provide low thermal resistance from base to fins in systems where the airflow measures 200+ linear feet per minute. Digital Micrometer

Mahr, Providence, RI, has launched a new digital micrometer. The Micromar 40 EWRi micrometer is the latest addition to the company’s family of integrated wireless products, which includes digital calipers, indicators, and depth gages. Measurement data is transferred to an i-Stick on a computer without any interfering data cables. For data acquisition, the user just takes a measurement, and the MarCom software transmits data directly into MS Excel or via a keyboard code into any Windows program or existing SPC application. The first digital micrometer has large 10 mm digits on a high contrast digital display, making for safe fatigue-free reading of the measured values.
