Boyd Coatings Research Co. (Hudson, MA) has developed the CRC 8000-line medical grade coating for use in reusable medical devices/instruments. The coating line is available in a wide variety of colors, including violet, orange and green, as well as many other standard colors. CRC 8000 is based on PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride), is durable, chemical-resistant and inert, with excellent dielectric strength (1500 V/mil) and a lower cure temperature (500 °F). It can serve as a color marking material as well as a protective and electrically insulative coating.
