The iBox® Explorer™ Fluorescence Microscope from UVP (Cambridge, England) offers new micro imaging technology that incorporates imaging of tissues, tissue margins, and individual cells. The system operates in the visible and NIR wavelengths, yielding images of tissues and cells, or, using the joystick, “flies” across an area such as the open abdominal region or skin flap of a mouse for rapid screening. The cooled color camera enables quick detection, image capture, and high throughput. The new BioLite™ Xe excitation light source provides a bright illumination source for fluorescent, visible, and NIR ranges. It includes a motorized filter wheel for the addition of up to eight independent excitation filters for convenient switching between experiments and multiplexing applications.
