In May 2016, Ekso Bionics announced that its Ekso GT became the first FDA-cleared robotic exoskeleton approved for rehabilitation use in stroke patients, helping individuals with lower-limb paralysis stand and walk during therapy. The “spring into motion” technology also received clearance for certain spinal cord injury patients, highlighting the growing role of wearable robotics in rehabilitation medicine.
