Edith H. Quimby. A physicist and early leader in medical radiation science, Quimby developed methods to accurately measure and calculate how radiation doses are absorbed by the human body. Her work transformed radiation use from approximate and inconsistent application into a controlled, quantifiable practice, enabling safer imaging and more effective cancer treatments.
