SMD SWIR LEDs

EPIGAP OSA Photonics GmbH, Berlin, Germany, has released a surface-mount device (SMD) shortwave infrared (SWIR). Model OCI-460 ID1550-XS operates at 1550 nm and features drive current up to 1.5 A to deliver approximately 13 percent higher output efficiency over the company’s OCI-480 package. Other models in the series operate at wavelengths of 1040, 1200, 1300, and 1460 nm. Output power varies depending on the specific model. The SMD SWIR’s design utilizes an industry-standard 3535 footprint combining a silicone dome and ceramic package to ensure excellent thermal efficiency. Each package in the series integrates electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection devices for longer life and reliable performance.

PWM Controller

Dart Controls, Zionsville, IN, has introduced a high-performance pulse width modulation (PWM) controller for 12–48-V battery powered equipment. Rated for 10–20 A continuous current, the 65E features adjustable maximum speed, minimum speed, current limit, IR compensation, and acceleration, plus an operating frequency of 18 kHz. In addition to the new reversing option, the updated design offers supply voltage and current limit status LEDs and current limit shutdown and output. SMT design and advanced circuitry minimizes voltage drop (up to 60+ percent less voltage drop). It is available in open chassis and NEMA 4X enclosed models. Optional undervoltage lockout protects from battery deep cycle discharge. Inhibit input provides a low power method to shut down motor.

Brushless Servo Motors

Teknic, Inc., Rochester, NY, has released integrated brushless servo motors (1-4 HP continuous power) that are now officially IP66K and IP67 rated, making them ideal for demanding washdown environments. The AC-input ClearPath™ TENV (totally enclosed, non-ventilated) motors are designed to withstand both high-pressure washdowns (IP66K) and temporary submersion in water up to 1 meter when not running (IP67). The motors meets both U.S. Premium Efficiency and European IE3 efficiency standards. Each ClearPath permanent magnet (PM) motor includes a sealed, NEMA 6-rated servo drive (equivalent to a VFD) built directly into the motor enclosure. Preconfigured for advanced field-oriented control (FOC), this all-in-one design eliminates the need for external VFD-to-motor cables.
