IEC Appliance Inlet

A compact filter series from Schurter, Santa Rosa, CA, features an IEC C14 inlet with capacitors and a fully enclosed steel housing that reliably shields high-frequency interference conducted through cables or radiated interference. Especially suited for applications with shallow installation depth, the 5121 filter series suppresses the equipment’s high-frequency interference at the mains input while other additional low-frequency filter components, such as chokes and capacitors, can be placed elsewhere on the PCB. The series features a version for flange mounting and snap-in mounting. The flange is offered with plastic upon metal or metal only. Securing the metal flange to the chassis with metal screws or snap-in version with snap arms ensures optimal shielding at the panel opening. The series is available in both standard and medical M80 versions.

Stainless Steel Connectors

Constructed of stainless steel, a line of connectors with all external parts — threaded locking ring, housing, and pressing screw — is available from binder USA, Camarillo, CA. The cable clamp is constructed of PTFE, the seal is made of VitonTM, and rounded surfaces facilitate cleaning of the M12 connectors. The design and materials make it is suitable for hygienically demanding environments, including medical applications. A shieldable M12 variant is available with threaded locking ring, housing, and pressing screw all made of stainless steel.

Aseptic Genderless Connectors

Qosina, Ronkonkoma, NY, has introduced new connectors to its line of aseptic genderless connectors. CPC’s (Colder Products Company) AseptiQuik® W Series, with a 1½ in. flow path, enable quick and easy sterile connections in large-volume, high-flow production and process intensification environments. The large diameter connection allows for higher flow rates, reducing the risk of flow restrictions or pressure drops that could negatively impact process performance. The genderless design simplifies system integration and minimizes the risk of operator error. The connectors’ bodies are made of polycarbonate and are available in a high-temperature (HT) version, suitable for autoclave or gamma irradiation applications.

Micro-Coaxial Cable

Times Microwave Systems, Wallingford, CT, has introduced a compact and flexible microcoaxial cable. The TF-047 is a versatile SwaP-C solution with extensive connector capability. It is designed for easy routing in space-constrained areas, with an overall diameter of 0.055 in./1.40 mm and can support bends as tight as of 0.20 in./5.08 mm. The cable is optimized to perform from DC to 50 GHz. The lightweight micro-coaxial cable (maximum weight of 3.77 lbs./1.71 kg per 1000 ft) is available with a variety of push-on and threaded connectors. It is ideal for use in medical applications such as catheters, medical imaging, and patient monitoring.

Push-Pull Connectors

LEMO, Rohnert Park, CA, has expanded its line of push-pull connectors. The S Series now includes the 1S.275 Series for 12G-SDI (serial digital interface) 4K ultrahigh-definition transmission. The connectors are compliant with the SMPTE ST 2082-1 standard for signal/data transmission and enable a transmission rate of 12 Gbit/s meeting the 12G-SDI transmission standard and providing eight times the bandwidth of a standard HD-SDI in a single link. The connectors were developed in response to market demands for high transmission rates, lighter structure, low latency in live events for medical imaging platforms such as endoscopy and laparoscopy, as well as other industries.
