Miniature Pinch Valves

Miniature pinch valves from Beswick Engineering, Greenland, NH, are available for ⅛ and ¼ in. OD tubing. The PV series miniature pinch valve is designed to control fluid when it is advantageous to avoid fluid contact with mechanical components and elastomeric seals. Pinch valves achieve fluid control by clamping down on the outside diameter of the tubing in order to limit or stop flow. The PV has a port for pneumatic actuation as well as a manual knurled knob for extra flexibility. The valve is designed for use with silicone tubing that is often used in medical applications.

Valve Controller Modules

Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc. (OES), Van Nuys, CA, has released eight DIN rail-mounted proportional valve controller modules. The compact, low weight modules feature both low side and high side drivers. Freewheeling flyback snubber diodes are present. Designed for open-loop operation, they are ideal for pressure control valves, flow control valves, solenoids, actuators, voice coil motors, DC motors, and hydraulics. A closed-loop version is also available upon request. The input control signals are zero to +5 VDC or zero to +10 VDC.

Rocker Isolation Valve

Rocker isolation valves from Emerson, St. Louis, MO, are designed for use with neutral or highly aggressive liquids in clinical diagnostic and laboratory instruments. The ASCO Series 062 isolating diaphragm prevents heat transfer, and the special rocker mechanism has easy-to-flush and low-volume internal cavities. With 16 mm size and both two-way and three-way functions, the valves are interchangeable with most other 16-mm isolation valves in the market. Typical applications include in-vitro diagnostics, hematology, DNA sequencing, and industrial liquid analyzers.
