Mechatronic Integrated Devices

Harting, Elgin, IL, offers 3D mechatronic integrated devices (3D-MID) that allow for high-density integration of electronic components into small spaces. The electronic circuit can be built into the device itself, making it more compact and functionally dense. By using injection-molded circuit boards, the number of process steps, assembly times, and parts can be reduced. The injected molded components are then laid out using laser direct structuring. The 3D-MID technology is ideal for medical devices that require miniaturization such as hearing aids, implants, and surgical and dental instruments.
