Fuse Clips
Keystone Electronics Corp., New Hyde Park, NY, offers UL-recognized fuse clips with end stops to ensure safety and design integrity. Available for use with 1AG through 8AG size cylindrical glass fuses, the low-profile, space-saving fuse clips can accommodate any product design requiring UL components. Clips are suitable for applications from 6 to 30 A in a variety of environments. The clips are manufactured from brass with tin or nickel plate to ensure low contact resistance and ease of use on PCBs. Designed to mount easily and retain a stable position during wave soldering, the clips are available in snap-in and pressin through-hole mounting configurations as well as rivet and surface-mounting styles.

Power Entry Module
Schurter, Santa Rosa, CA, has expanded its power entry module series with a version for snap-in mounting. The new EC12 variant is designed to save panel space otherwise consumed by a mounting flange. It also provides quick and easy, well-secured installation. The compact module with snap-in mounting has the same integrated features as the flange mount version: IEC C20 appliance inlet, high-performance single-stage filter, and power switch — with or without illumination. Alternatively, it features snap arms designed to ensure a tight fit as they mount to the panel simultaneously to ensure a high-quality electrical contact to the panel, which optimizes the filtering and shielding effect.

Shielded Rotary Encoder
EBE, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany, has developed a rotary encoder with no mechanical parts. Based on the company’s capacitive capa-TEC® technology, the rotary encoder is set by a sliding movement of several fingers across a cylinder. The operator’s fingers serve as individual influencing factors that can be detected via capacitive measurement. Electrodes introduced from within are adjusted inside the rotary encoder via a carrier element. The housing wall remains completely closed and contains no mechanical or otherwise rotating components. The capacitive rotary encoder is particularly suitable in environments that need to be regularly cleaned or disinfected.

Electronic Indicator
Timestrip, Cambridge, UK, has developed an electronic indicator technology suitable for pack level monitoring with both time and multiple temperature settings. The neo is a platform for a series of single-use electronic indicators that can be specified in a wide range of temperatures for both ascending and descending alerts, as well as for different durations. If any of the set conditions are breached, a system of flashing LEDs provides clear information to the user. A standard configuration is available. The design provides monitoring at three temperatures and shows the cumulative time above a specific temperature level.

Brushless Slotted Flat Motor
Portescap, West Chester, NY, has released a new brushless slotted flat motor. The 32ECF motor has a diameter of 32 mm and an overall body length of 17.6 mm. With an 8-pole design and high-power density in a flat architecture, the motor utilizes an outer rotor configuration with an air gap between the coil and magnetic structure that is managed radially. The motor’s electromagnetic circuit has been optimized for higher performance. The motor also delivers a maximum continuous power of 32 W at 10,000 rpm within a 32 mm flat form factor.
