Long-Wear Medical Tape

A medical adhesive from 3M, St. Paul, MN, has been developed for extended wear devices that require attachment to the skin for up to a 21-day wear time. The Spunlace Extended Wear Adhesive Tape on Liner, 4576, is designed for devices that must be worn by patients for several weeks. The acrylate-based adhesive is flexible and conformable. With its excellent adhesion to the skin, this new product is said to be ideal for devices that require continuous extended wear, both in and out of care facilities.
