Switching Power Supplies
An AC/DC switching power supply series from Bicker Elektronik, Donauwoerth, Germany, has been developed for space-saving installation in medical devices and medical computer systems. The BEO-3000M The 3 × 5 in. open frame power supplies are available with precisely regulated DC single output voltages of 12, 24, 36, or 48 V, which can be fine-tuned in the range of ±5 percent. In addition, a 5-V standby and a 12-V fan output is available. The medical power supplies provide an output power of 250 W fanless or 300 W with 10 CFM airflow. With a high efficiency of up to 94 percent, a standby power consumption of less than 0.3 W, and an operating temperature range of –40° to +70 °C, the series is also suitable for closed systems.

Class II Power Supply
Schurter, Santa Rosa, CA, has released a 24 VDC universal switching power supply. The PSUP class II power supply supports the company's range of point and ring illuminated Metal Line switches rated for 24 VDC supply voltage. The power supply processes DC (127–370 VDC) or AC (90–264 VAC, 47–63 Hz) from the input side. A constant 24 VDC, with a power of 8 W, is then available at the output. The housing is completely insulated and is rated IP42 for indoor use. The operating temperatures may vary between –30° and +70 °C. The unit is protected against short circuit, overload, and overvoltage.
