The key factors that were considered by Medtronic while building the ranking for the award included: commitment to innovation, service, quality, and value. In past years, Weiss-Aug says it has successfully supported the development and launch of numerous sophisticated subassembly projects for Medtronic, totaling over 30 discrete components.
The strategic partnership with Medtronic started in 1990. In the past three years, Weiss-Aug has launched a plant in Monterrey, Mexico, to better support the strategic needs of Medtronic, and it has invested in new technologies for machining, metal stamping, secondary processing, and insert molding. The Surgical Division of Weiss-Aug, dedicated to the development of components for medical devices, recently expanded capabilities of prototyping by installing best-in-class cutting and welding technology. The company's Laser Lab Center has installed state-of-the-art technologies to optimize prototype fabrication and support low-volume production programs.
