The Micro-Twin Screw compounder from Technovel Corporation (Osaka, Japan) offers special capabilities including RPMs up to 4400, high torque drive system, and pressure resistant barrel. The modular screw design can be configured for L/D either 45:1 or 60:1. Technovel also manufactures this system with 6000 RPMs, and 150:1 L/D. The system will support research efforts in polymer compounding of materials such as bioabsorbable polymers and nanoparticles at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
