Qosina, Edgewood, NY, has added
an Anti-Slip Boot (#51599) to its
extensive line of stock components.
The new boot helps prevent luer fittings
from slipping apart, and works
with most standard luer fittings. Made
from medical grade silicone and
applicable for autoclave, gamma, and
EtO sterilizing, it measures 11/32" ID
× ½" OD × ¾" (0.343" × 0.5" × 0.75", 8.7mm × 12.7mm × 19.05mm).
Designed to maintain the integrity of a luer fitting assembly, this solution
helps prevent loss and contamination due to accidental disconnection
of luer parts. MD&M Florida, Booth 404.

Tuesday, May 01 2012
Keystone Electronics (Astoria, NY) has
developed a series of anti-vibration grommets
engineered for electrical insulation, mechanical
damping, and noise suppression in office
or lab equipment. The devices feature “fingers”
that flex as needed to dampen unwanted
noise or vibration. Incorporated are special
shoulder screws to provide correct spacing, which allows screws to be
fully tightened down. The grommets are designed to accommodate
panels from .031" to .125" thick, and are manufactured from durable
EPDM rubber in black or blue color. The mating, custom-fitted shoulder
screws are made of Nickel plated steel in 6-32 and M3 threads.

POSITAL, a unit of FRABA Inc. (Hamilton,
NJ), now offers absolute rotary encoders with
a combined interface that enables simultaneous
communication of both absolute and
incremental rotary position data. The new
interface reports absolute rotary position data
to the PLC using the synchronous serial interface
(SSI) standard, operating over an RS-422/485 communication link. At
the same time, the encoder can also transmit a series of electronic pulses
as the shaft rotates — up to 16,384 pulses per rotation. Incremental pulses
can be sent over an RS-422/45 link, or via a push-pull connection. Other
features include enhanced diagnostic reporting via case-mounted LEDs or
via the SSI connection, and an optional case-mounted push-button.

Wednesday, February 01 2012
The drylin® HTSP-FF leadscrew table
from igus (East Providence, RI) includes a
quick-release nut that makes format adjustments
faster and easier by reducing the
number of revolutions required to position
the carriage on a leadscrew assembly
with a small pitch. The table can be
adjusted by pushing a button,
which releases the
linear slide from
the thread. The
carriage can be
manually pushed into place and locked in
position. Adjustments requiring increased
precision can be made using the mechanism’s
hand wheel. igus also offers iglide®
PRT slewing ring bearings that slide instead
of roll. The bearings use two self-lubricating,
low-friction plastic sliding elements in place
of ball bearings. The low-noise modules help
facilitate rotary movement in cleanroom
applications, assembly lines, production
facilities, and robots.
