Hypertronics (Hudson, MA) offers miniature circular connectors as an extension of the circular push-button D Series connector design. The connectors feature Hypertac® hyperboloid contacts in a 0.3 mm pin size, and maintain five signal contacts rated at 1A each, with a dielectric withstanding voltage rating of 750V. They include a push-button latch and are available with crimp termination, which can also be soldered, accommodating up to 24 AWG wire. The receptacles are available with 6-inch pigtails as standard with optional custom lengths and board terminations available.

Bayer MaterialScience (Pittsburgh, PA) has introduced the Makrolon® Rx1851 medical-grade polycarbonate resin. This low-viscosity resin features enhanced internal mold release technology that is suitable for complicated parts, such as shallow draft angles and multi-cavity molds with long flow lengths. It meets the test requirements of the FDA-modified version of ISO 10993 with human tissue contact time of 30 days or less. Certain color formulations of the new grade also meet the requirements of the FDA-modified ISO 10993. Potential applications include components of syringes, IV access systems, and cardiovascular devices.
