Products of the Year Named and Your Chance to Create the Future

In December, we asked Medical Design Briefs readers to select the one product from our 12 Products of the Month that you thought was the most significant new introduction to the design engineering community in 2014. Thank you to all of our readers who voted and chose two winners for the 2014 Medical Design Briefs’ Readers’ Choice Product of the Year:

MAXPOS 50/5 Positioning Controller

maxon precision motors, Fall River, MA, launched the MAXPOS 50/5 motion controller. This compact EtherCAT Slave ensures reliability and durability even under harsh conditions.

Thanks to the latest Field Programmable Gate Array technology, highest control cycle rates can be achieved with minimally short cycle times at the same time. For trajectory planning, sophisticated motion control tasks with a current controller clock speed of 100 kHz and an effective communication cycle time of 100 s can be achieved with a suitable EtherCAT master.
