Embedded Technology (ET) magazine features board-level electronics and COTS solutions for design engineers, as well as a variety of product offerings.

The May issue of Embedded Technology contains a feature article written by Julien Chouinard, managing director at ICS Triplex ISaGRAF (Montreal, Canada), entitled “Distributed Control Standard Connects Industry Regardless of Bus.” The article notes the proliferation of fieldbus networks (such as PROFIBUS, DeviceNET, and SERCOS, etc.) and highlights the implementation of IEC 61499, which created the structure for a supervisory application layer that connects isolated control systems.

See page 2 of the May issue for the full article. To read previously published ET articles, cick here.
